Put your culinary skills truly to the test by planning, preparing and serving meals in one of our two fine-dining restaurants. You will also learn about recipe development, food sourcing and production. You’ll build on your Level 2 skills with further training in areas such as butchery, fish filleting, pastry techniques, and more. Our amazing kitchens are all industry standard, giving you the range of skills needed to progress into the industry. All of our lecturers are from the industry, and are best placed to advise you in your next steps. Youll also have the opportunity to enter competitions, learn tips and be set challenges from a range of industry speakers, and gain inspiration for your own dishes through different trips. This programme is intended for those wishing to become chefs but is also ideal for those already working in the industry. You will learn through a combination of theory lessons, practical tasks and educational visits Your work in the kitchen will be observed and assessed. You will also undertake assignments and unit tests to establish your learning at this level This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme
What you need to get on
Four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above. A relevant Level 2 Diploma.
