What the college says

The course content focusses on the needs required to train and extend your knowledge to give you a sound foundation in the principles of culinary practices. You will learn how to prepare and cook meat, offal, fish sauces and pastry and much more. The Culinary skills course will contain 2 qualifications, one in Culinary skills, showcasing practical skills in the kitchen, the other will be a Food service qualification in our Training Restaurant HU1 Riverside.

4 x GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above, or Level 1 Subject Qualification In addition: Completion of introductory period to the course

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
