The course consists of both internally and externally assessed units, giving you the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the performing arts sector. Units covered include individual showcase, the performing arts industry, acting skills, devising drama, voice and speech for performers and performing scripted plays.

What you need to get on

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (if this does not include English and maths these MUST be studied as part of the Level 2 programme) or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths; successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Level 1 programme (progressing learners).

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
