What the college says

The study programme will prepare you for a career as a chef in a professional kitchen and will make you highly employable. During this qualification you will work with local employers on structured work placement, within this offer there will be an opportunity for learners to attend a residential trip abroad and for some students to attend a work placement in the 5* Hilton Hotel Malta. Please Note: Work placement opportunities will be available at all levels.

What you need to get on

4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 OR Level 1 in either English or Maths and Level 1 qualification in Hospitality and for progressing students.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
