This course will mainly consist of practical sessions with the running of our Hart Kitchens Restaurant, with some classroom-based activities, You will also work with several local employers through the year. Areas for study include developing your food and beverage skills including hot and cold beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including cocktails, table service, table theatre and events and functions.You will hone the relevant workplace skills you have learnt at level 1 and learn how to develop these at a higher level including problem-solving and planning
What you need to get on
4 x GCSE Grade D or above including maths and English.Level 1 Diploma Food & Beverage Services or equivalent industry skills and experience.Enthusiasm to achieve and good independent learning skills are essential.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
