Students who choose to study Government and Politics A level will study aspects of British and American Politics. Politics exists because people disagree. They disagree about how they should live, about who should get what and who should make decisions. Politics is the process through which people with different ideas, values, opinions and interests attempt to find a way of living together within the same society. This is what makes the subject so varied, stimulating and fascinating. This is the subject for you if you are interested in current affairs, love discussion and debate and want to know who really runs our lives and how they do it. It is a lively and up-to-date subject which is great for developing a wide range of intellectual skills.
