What the college says

A Level Government and Politics is a fascinating blend of ideological perspectives and contemporary political ideas. Students who take the course will evaluate the ideas behind the key social movements and political ideologies that dominate the world today and debate the most hotly contested issues in UK politics. Whilst the main focus of much of the course is politics in the UK, there are many opportunities to investigate the role of political ideas in an international context. The broad scope of the course means that it combines very well with a range of other A Levels including History, Geography and Business. The course develops skills of persuasive arguing and critical analysis which are useful in a wide variety of careers including law, journalism and management.
