After getting through your GCSEs, your knowledge of chemistry will be advanced. At A level, you will continue to further your knowledge of concepts you already know as well as learning new ones. The A level will provide you with the why behind the topics that you covered at GCSE. A-level Chemistry attempts to answer the big question ‘what is the world made of’ and it’s the search for this answer that makes this subject so fascinating. From investigating how one substance can be changed drastically into another, to researching a new wonder drug to save millions of lives, the opportunities that chemistry provides are endless.

What you need to get on

Grade 7 in Chemistry or 7-7 in Trilogy, grade 6 in Maths and English

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
