This course is for students who want to continue studying Chemistry after GCSE. You will already be familiar with some of the topics, but the A Level will give you the chance to study these and some new ones, in much greater depth. You might be choosing Chemistry because you are headed for a scientific career, though it will give you a set of skills that can be used in a wide range of non-scientific careers too.

What you need to get on

Sixth Form Entry Requirements: Grade 6 or better in Mathematics and English, together with a further 4 GCSE subjects at Grade 6 or better. Subject Specific Entry Requirements: Minimum Grade 7 in GCSE Chemistry or Grade 7-7 in GCSE Combined Science and a minimum Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics. In addition, due to the content of the new GCSE specifications, we recommend that pupils have taken separate sciences at GCSE.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
