What the college says
The main aim of the course is to help you understand the key principles in Chemistry and use these to help explain real-world applications and phenomena. It opens you to a range of ways of thinking and develops a variety of transferable skills. Chemistry involves the study of Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry and allows you to develop both your practical and investigative skills. What you need to get on
At least GCSE grade 6-6 in Double award. If separate Sciences are studied at GCSE, at least 6-6-5, with grade 6 in Chemistry. Students must also achieve at least grade 6 in GCSE Maths and a grade 5 in English Language or Literature GCSE. APS 5.5
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
