Chemistry is about the materials around us. You will look at atoms, and see how they combine to produce the different substances we use every day. You will investigate how and why reactions happen, how to speed them up, increase their yield and look at their effects on the environment.

What you need to get on

Minimum requirements for all courses are a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths Five GCSEs at Grade 6. Students must be taking at least 7 GCSE's Subject specific requirements -Grade 7-6+ in Combined Science or Grade 7-6+ in Chemistry, Grade 6+ in Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
