An A level in Chemistry provides you with a range of transferable skills and develops your ability to apply your knowledge to new problems. The course is challenging and aims to give students the opportunity to develop their understanding of Chemistry concepts. The aims of A level Chemistry are to: • Develop students independent study skills • To familiarise students with experimental techniques • To provide students who wish to continue studying Science with a firm foundations of Chemistry concepts.

What you need to get on

Minimum entry requirement to the Arthur Terry 6th form: Gaining a minimum 33 points from a minimum of 7 GCSEs which must include English Language and Maths with a minimum point score of 4. Individual subject entry requirements must follow the Pathway entry requirements table also available on the Arthur Terry School website. Up to 2 BTEC/OCR National qualifications at Level 2 Merit can be used for 6th form entry. Each BTEC will count as 1 of the 7 GCSE grades Minimum subject entry requirements: 6 in GCSE Science (Core and Additional) or 6 in GCSE Chemistry and 6 in GCSE Maths plus 5 in GCSE English Language or Literature
