Chemistry is a good all round academic subject. It is a demanding subject hence students of Chemistry need to be both dedicated and interested in the subject. Chemistry is a practical subject so an enjoyment of lab work and good practical skills are essential. Strong organisational, mathematical and time management skills are also beneficial.

What you need to get on

Studied Combined Science? Then a minimum of a Grade 6 for each Science GCSE (i.e. 66) and a Grade 6 minimum for Mathematics. or Studied Separate Science? Then a Grade 6 minimum is required in Chemistry and a Grade 6 minimum for Mathematics

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
