You will explore the three key aspects of chemistry; organic, study of all compounds containing carbon; inorganic, identifying patterns and trends in the periodic table and physical, investigating chemistry through mathematical analysis. During the course you will have many opportunities to develop your practical skills through quantitative and qualitative analysis. Students studying chemistry at A Level will have the chance to travel to Geneva in Switzerland to visit CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the International Chemistry Olympiad competition.

What you need to get on

5 GCSE grades 9-5, including English and Mathematics, a grade 6 in GCSE Chemistry or 6-6 Combined Science and a grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
