What the college says

You will learn about how we live in a chemical world – the air we breathe, the ground we walk on, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the buildings we live and work in – and our bodies are all made of chemicals. You will study Physical Chemistry, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry as well as having the opportunity to attend external presentations and lectures. The chemistry syllabus ensures an understanding of how chemistry is in our everyday lives and is an opportunity to develop broader skills. It is a stepping stone for Further Education study of the sciences.

What you need to get on

6 grades A*-C including 2 grade Bs; 2 or more of English, Maths and Science at A*-C; either grade BB in GCSE Science with grade C in GCSE Mathematics OR grade BC in Science with grade B in Mathematics

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
