The new AQA specification is designed to ensure that the subject content can be delivered using a variety of approaches highlighting its relevance to real world experiences. There are numerous opportunities to use practical experiences to link theory to reality and to inspire students, nurture their passion for chemistry and lay the groundwork for further study. There are 3 units taught over 2 years, incpororating 12 core practicals. Unit 1: Physical Chemistry Unit 2: Inorgnic Chemistry Unit 3: Organic Chemistry The AS course is based on the 1st half of each unit. The A level covers the whole of the 3 units. The AS and the A level course are fully co teachable.

6 in Chemistry Grade 6 or above in Maths If combined science studied requirement is 7-7 There is an expectation that students will be studying some form of Maths

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
