In Year 13 the topics you will study are: Physical Chemistry, including thermodynamics, rate equations and electrochemical cells Inorganic Chemistry, including transition metals Organic Chemistry, including optical isomerism, aromatic chemistry and DNA Chemistry is a practical subject. Throughout the course you will carry out practical activities, including: Measuring energy changes in chemical reactions Studying electrochemical cells
What you need to get on
Students following this subject will have obtained between A* and B in Chemistry. Double Award students should, ideally, have achieved an A grade for Additional Science and at least a B grade for Core Science. All students studying sciences should have achieved a B grade at GCSE Maths and a C grade at GCSE English.
