What the college says
You will analyse substances and work out how and why chemical reactions happen. The course will build upon GCSE Chemistry and explore topics such as Equilibria, Acids/Bases, Aromatics and Periodicity. The knowledge, skills and understanding gained through the study of chemistry opens many career pathways and links to University courses.
What you need to get on
Students studying GCSE Combined Science need to have achieved a minimum Grade 6-6. Students studying GCSE Separate Sciences need at least two Grade 6s and a Grade 5 (with one of the 6s being in Chemistry).
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
