From making a cup of tea to charging a mobile phone, Chemistry is involved in everything we do. Chemistry is at the forefront of advances in designing new materials, energy use, drug development and technology - pretty much every aspect of life.
What you need to get on
5 GCSEs or equivalent, grade 9 - 4, including Maths and English Language. In addition a grade 6 -6 or above in Combined Science or a grade 6 or above in GCSE Chemistry is required. Due to the Mathematical content, students are required to achieve a minimum grade 6 in GCSE Maths, and students who are not sitting Maths A-level should undertake a Core Maths element in their timetable.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
