What is it? Chemistry is an exciting subject which gives you the opportunity to explore how it is involved in all our lives from drugs, to explosives and polymers. You will develop many transferable skills including problem solving, numeracy and a range of laboratory skills. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? Excellent teaching and learning will ensure that you benefit from a stimulating, encouraging environment. You will get the opportunity to enter chemistry competitions and challenges that are recognised by universities and employers. Specific course entry requirements: Grade 5 in GCSE Maths plus grade 6 and 5 from GCSE Combined Science (higher tier), or grade 6 in GCSE Chemistry. We strongly advise you to take another science or maths with A Level Chemistry

What you need to get on

For our A Level programme, we require at least two GCSEs at (5) (B) grade and three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English language and maths. The pass grades need to be in academic GCSEs and relate to your chosen A level courses. Please see our website for specific course requirements.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
