Step into the exciting world of fashion and textile design at Urmston Grammar School, where creativity meets craftsmanship. This dynamic A Level course allows you to express yourself through a wide variety of materials, techniques, and processes. From embroidery, weaving, crochet, and printmaking to dyeing, fabric manipulation, and garment construction. You’ll have the opportunity to develop original outcomes in areas such as fashion design, costume, accessories, and body adornment; all while building the skills and portfolio needed for further study or a creative career.

What you need to get on

The general entry requirement to be offered a place at Urmston Grammar Sixth Form from September 2026 is a minimum of five GCSE passes which include: 2 x grade 7s, 3 x grade 6s, GCSE grades must also include a minimum of grade 5 in English Language & Maths. If you haven’t studied Art or Textiles at GCSE, we will ask to see a portfolio of creative work this would include drawings, photography, handmade items, or personal design projects.
