What you need to get on

3 GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or equivalent, including English Language, Maths and Science (or related subject). Check FE Admission guide for changes and equivalencies. It is strongly recommended for applicants to gain some voluntary experience within the animal sector in order ensure that they are fully prepared for the expectations of the study programme and gain a realistic insight of the animal industry. A minimum of five days (which do not have to be consecutive) is advised.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
