If you�re interested in a career working with children and young people but aren�t sure where to start, becoming a Teaching Assistant (TA) is an ideal option. The one-year Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning course is for adults who want to be employed in roles providing specialised support for pupils' learning in primary, secondary, or special schools, as well as colleges. You�ll gain the skills needed to work with children and young people in a classroom environment alongside the teacher to support whole class activities as well as working with individuals or groups of pupils. If you are already a TA at Level 1 or 2, this course will allow you to take on more responsibilities and further your career.

What you need to get on

You must have Level 2 numeracy and literacy or the equivalent GCSE qualification in maths and English (minimum grade C/4) and should either be employed or undertaking voluntary work of approximately 10 hours per week within a primary or secondary school. All candidates will need to attend an information session before starting the programme.
