The one-year Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning for adults has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people�s development, supporting children and young people�s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.

What you need to get on

You must have, or be working towards Level 1 in English. All candidates will need to attend an information session before starting the programme and candidates will need to undertake a literacy and numeracy assessment prior to starting.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
