The GCE Sociology specification has been designed so that candidates will acquire the essential knowledge and understanding of central aspects of sociological thought and methods, together with the application of a range of skills. Sociology is a study of societies and unlike other disciplines, it looks at how people live, behave and work together in groups. It asks questions about the world that we live in and tried to explain why it is the way it is. Examples of some topics are: Why is the family constructed the way it is? Why do some groups do better in education than others? Why do some people commit more crime than others?

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
