What the college says
Sociology promotes an understanding and awareness of the social world in which we live. It also helps us to understand how different aspects of society influence our behaviour. Students will learn how Sociologists have developed theories to explain how society works. Feminist, Functionalist, Marxist and Post-modernist approaches will be explored. However, students will be expected to use these critically in developing their own opinions and explanations.
