Sociology is about examining and analysing individual and group behavior within the context of society. Students develop their critical thinking skills, ability to relate theories to contemporary issues and skills of analysis and application. The course is modular in structure allowing students to study the first 2 units to gain an AS level at the end of the first year and then continue to complete the A Level by the end of the second year, all units are examined in the 2nd year to achieve the A level qualification. The units are: 1. Education and Research Methods (AS & A Level) 2. Research Methods and Topics in Sociology - (AS Culture and Identity) - (A Level Culture and Identity and Global Development) 3. Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods (A Level)

Grade 5 or above in either English

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
