Sociology is a social science which helps to make sense of the way in which society works. Those who study sociology will become adept in understanding and analysing sociological issues and devising potential solutions and improvements, perhaps by addressing social inequalities relating to factors such as class, gender, race and poverty.

What you need to get on

The minimum academic entrance requirement for the sixth form for September 2022 is 6 x Grade 9-4 GCSEs with at least 3 subjects at Grade 6 including English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or higher. We strongly advise that students have at least a GCSE Grade 6 in the subjects they will study at A Level. Some subjects can be taken at A Level without having studied them at GCSE.
