What the college says
Sociology is a vast discipline that allows students to explore a wide range of issues. The methods of study developed by sociologists will equip students with a broad base of knowledge and skills that will differentiate them in the market place. A level includes the A/S units and crime and deviance, beliefs in society and theory and methods. Students will learn methods used by sociologists in research and analyse evidence to formulate new ideas and concepts.
What you need to get on
Minimum of 5 9-4 grades at GCSE including a 4 grade in English and preferably a 4 grade in sociology.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
