What the college says
Students will enjoy Sociology if they have a genuine interest in finding out how society works, the causes of social problems and their potential solutions. The course will help to develop a growing sense of social responsibility with an emphasis on how wider society and world issues influence our relationships with others. You will cover topics such as Families and Households, Research Methods, Education, Beliefs in Society and Crime and Deviance.
What you need to get on
Five GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory schoolreference. Including English Language at grade 5. A grade 4 in English Language will be accepted if English Literature or History at grade 5 as a minimum.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
