Sociology can lead to many related university courses but it is also held in high regard by many employers due to the vast range of skills that will be obtained in A level. Skills such as enquiry, research, data collection, evaluation and working in teams are just a few as well as the essential sociological knowledge and understanding developed. A Level sociologists have gone on to become researchers, teachers, lecturers, police officers, lawyers, social workers and public relations officers to name a few.

What you need to get on

Grade 5 in GCSE English. Students must have a good standard of English, as this is an essay-based course and will require extended writing.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
