Sociology is the study of society and of people and their behaviour. Sociologists study a wide range of topics such as education, families & households, beliefs in society and crime & deviance. In studying topics like these, sociologists create theories to explain human behaviour and the workings of society. Sociology is also concerned with describing and explaining the patterns of inequality, deprivation and conflict which are a feature of virtually all societies
What you need to get on
5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including Maths. Grade 5 in English Language and Literature plus a grade 5 or higher in a Humanities subject.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
