Routes to Industry Certificate Entry

What the college says

'Routes to Industry' is designed for students with a learning difficulty and/or disability, who are in receipt of an EHCP and have a strong desire to study within the wider college on a vocational pathway. Applicants ideally will be working at or close to Entry Level 3, in order that students can progress from ‘Routes to Industry’ to a suitable vocational course of their choosing. On the course students will develop their confidence and independence in order to maximise their chances of a successful progression onto a vocational course at The Manchester College. Students will explore what courses are available at the college, and students will have the opportunity to participate in classes within those departments. This will allow the students and staff chance to assess the suitability of those courses and check if they are realistic progression destinations. If students display the correct aptitude, then they will have the option to transfer onto a vocational course within the first year of study.
