This programme follows on from the basic life skills introduction and works for a one year period towards specific employment aims including, understanding work, and benefit assessment, job coaching, applying for a job, external work experience and placements. The aim is to be able to secure up to 8 hours paid or voluntary employment. Content is delivered as one of three study programme options with further opotunities for acreditation as part of ongoing development. the study programmes are based upon working outside on the land, in Farming, Gardening, with animals and Horses, Craft work leading to retail oportunity, working with the public and sales work and catering and hospitality, with a chance to be front or back of house and develop people sills.

What you need to get on

Students must have a current Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). attendance or evidence of completion of life skills courses post 16 is also advisable. Willingness to work and clear commitment to the course outcomes. Good timekeeping essential.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
