The course is split into discrete topic areas. Students begin in Year 12 with a study of the laws, theories and models of physics and then students explore the practical applications of this theory in Year 13.

What you need to get on

GCSE Grade 7 Physics or grade 7 in the Physics paper for the GCSE Combined Science with grade 7 in Mathematics. Students studying Physics are strongly encouraged to take A Level Mathematics.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
