What the college says

There are 3 aspects to the course. 1) This looks at applied anatomy and physiology, skill acquisition and sport and society. 2) This aspect looks at exercise physiology and bio-mechanics, sport psychology and sport and society and technology in sport. Additionally, you will be assessed in 3 areas of practical performance and must provide video evidence from competitive performances. This will be internally assessed and moderated by AQA. You will also need to provide a verbal/written analysis of your performance in your chosen sport. It is here that you will apply knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts, principles and methods of physical activities and performance.

What you need to get on

All students entering the Sixth Form to undertake a 3 A Level Programme must have secured 5 GCSE grades at 4 or above. It is expected that all students will achieve a GCSE grade 4 or higher in GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. It is not a requirement that you should have studied PE at GCSE Level in order to take the A Level.
