What the college says
This course provides breadth and balance, giving students the chance to study a wide array of theoretical areas that underpin Physical Education and sport. In choosing this course, students will develop knowledge which will equip them for undergraduate study in areas of Physiology, Biomechanics, Psychology and Sociology. Students will also be able to gain credit for their practical sports ability through their performance in a wide range of individual or team sports.
What you need to get on
Grade 6 in GCSE PE, if taken. Although prior study of examination based Physical Education is not required, interest in a range of sporting areas is essential. Regular participation in one team/individual sport essential. (The ability to play this sport to a high standard is desirable.)
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
