Awarding Body : AQA Unit 3 – A2 Theory Optimising performance and evaluating contemporary issues within sport. This is worth 70% of the A Level and is assessed by two 2 hour written examinations. The unit comprises 3 sections: Section A – Exercise Physiology, Section B – Sport Psychology and Section C – Sport and Society and Technology in Sport. Each section is assessed by a combination of multiple choice, short answer and extended writing tasks. Unit 4 – A2 Practical Students are assessed in an activity as a performer or coach. This contributes to 30% of the A Level and has an internal assessment with external moderation. Candidates coach or perform the core skills/techniques in one sport and a written/verbal analysis of the performance.

General Requirements : 6 grade 5-9 GCSE passes including 5 or higher English Lang AND Maths Additional or Specific Requirements : Grade 5 or above in GCSE P.E.
