This course is for anyone moving from GCSE with an interest in sport and physical education. You might be choosing it because you're headed for a career in the sports industry, though it will equip you with transferable skills such as teamwork, resilience and leadership that can be used in a wide range of careers. You'll need enthusiasm and a commitment to training and performing regularly in a chosen sport. A level PE combines well with subjects including physics, chemistry, biology and psychology.

The general entry requirement to be offered a place at Urmston Grammar Sixth Form from September 2026 is a minimum of five GCSE passes which include: 2 x grade 7s, 3 x grade 6s, GCSE grades must also include a minimum of grade 5 in English Language & Maths. To study this subject at A Level we would expect you to have achieved a Grade 6 or above at GCSE in PE.
