AS/A-Level Physical Education is an interesting and dynamic subject which is designed to allow candidates to experience and develop an interest as performer or coach for one competitive sporting activity. It also aims to enhance their knowledge and increase their understanding of the modern day sporting arena and relevant theoretical subjects including anatomy and physiology, sports psychology and sociology. The AS course runs over one year and the A-level course runs over two years.
What you need to get on
Grade 6 in GCSE Music. It is vital that you are having instrumental lessons. Candidates are expected to participate in Music Department extra-curricular activities. Some understanding of the rudiments of Theory is needed for this course. Working at a Grade 5 level is very helpful.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
