What the college says

During this course you will develop creative and practical skills for communicating and expressing ideas, feelings and meanings through photography. You will use investigative and critical skills to research and analyse. Through looking at the work of others and developing your own ideas, you will build up a solid understanding of photography in contemporary society and in other times and cultures. You will be introduced to a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. You will be made aware of both traditional and new technologies. Your responses to these examples will be shown through practical and critical activities which will demonstrate an understanding of different styles, genres and traditions.

What you need to get on

4+ in GCSE Photography, Art or Art Graphics but not necessary if portfolio of evidence is provided in an interview with the Curriculum Leader.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
