Photography will show you how to view the world differently, how to capture it creatively, and how the skills you will develop can be a valuable asset in many other vocations. The course teaches you to capture effective compositions, and how to use a digital camera to its full potential. We will work both in the studio and in situ, with a variety of subject matter. You will source creative inspiration and study the work of others, and learn how to experiment and develop your own ideas. As an art photography course we are very much rooted in photography for fine art, design and exhibition. Students have previously gone on to university to study photography, advertising, marine photography and illustration. Photography compliments and brings a range of transferable skills to subjects such as graphics, fine art, film and media, ICT, web and games design, and business.

What you need to get on

Grade 4 in English Language GCSE Art or Photography is desirable

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
