This course is for learners who have some knowledge and basic skills in production or maintenance engineering to enable them to progress safely into the workplace/employment or who want to increase their skills and progress onto Level 3 Engineering. It allows you to learn, develop and apply the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the engineering sector.
What you need to get on
You will need:Three GCSEs at grade 3 or above or an equivalent Level 1 Engineering qualification with Functional Skills at level 1 in Maths and English.All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
