This qualification provides students with knowledge and understanding of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours required across a range of engineering occupations. The qualification covers core knowledge and skills required for entry to the engineering and manufacturing sectors. The qualification is obtained by completion of one mandatory unit and six optional units. Mandatory Unit: Engineering Environment Awareness Six options will be chosen from: Engineering Math
What you need to get on
Achievement of at least one of the following GCSE grades is the minimum entry requirement for the course: English 4/C Maths 4/C In addition GCSE grade 3 minimum is preferred in the following GCSEs: Science/Technology/Electronics
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
