Mathematics is viewed favourably as a qualification for entry to many courses in higher education and opens the door to thousands of well-paid careers. During this course, you will study Pure Mathematics, Mechanics, and Statistics. Mechanics will particularly benefit those of you also studying physics whilst statistics is particularly beneficial if you are studying Economics, Geography, Biology or Psychology.

What you need to get on

The minimum entry requirements for students are the best 8 GCSE grades, totalling 38 or higher. For example, two Grade 6s, two Grade 5s, and four Grade 4s. In addition, students also need to have secured a Grade 4 in English; with a Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
