History has rightly been described as an “argument without end.” It offers no fixed answers, but some insight into what it is to be a human being and real training in logical thought and the interrogation of ideas through time. You will develop an understanding of how our world has evolved over time, and find out why the present day is what it is.

What you need to get on

To enter South Craven Sixth Form students need to have achieved Grade 9-4 at GCSE (A*-C), or Merits in other level 2 qualifications (e.g. BTEC, OCR Nationals), in at least 5 separate subjects including English Lit/English Language or Maths. This is considered to be the minimum entry requirement. Must include Grade 5 in GCSE History and Grade 5 in GCSE English Lit/English Language

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
