What the college says

History is a popular A Level course, delivered by experienced teachers who are passionate about the subject. The course is designed to enable the study of both modern and early modern history, providing historical breadth, with a focus on British and American history. Recent events such as the Black Lives Matter movement and changes in the US presidency make this course, which explores US politics and American Civil Rights, exceptionally relevant. In addition, the British component of the course provides opportunities to look at the root causes of historical issues which still influence Britain today, including political problems in Ireland and Scottish independence.
