What the college says

You will study 3 units throughout the A level course plus complete a 3000-4000 word essay on a topic of your choice. We focus on a range of historical periods from Alfred and the Making of England 871-1016, International Relations 1890-1941 and Russia and Its Rulers 1855-1964. Alfred and the Making of England 871-1016 investigates the Viking raids on England and the eventual creation of the Danelaw and how the Anglo-Saxon monarchs dealt with the situation. International Relations 1890-1941 offers an understanding of the causes and events leading up to the two World Wars which shaped the 20th Century. Russia and Its Rulers investigates Russia over a 100 year period as the power went from Tsars to Communists and adopted a radically different political system.
