What the college says
Mathematics is an academic subject whose skills and knowledge are highly prized and sort after from employers. Through a combination of Pure units and Applied units, you will gain a deeper understanding of the mathematics all around you as well as develop analytical, problem solving skills that are transferable to almost any career choice. In the Pure units, you will continue a study of Algebra, Trigonometry, Indices and Vectors as well as covering Logarithms and Calculus which take you into the Higher world of Mathematics. The applied units cover Forces, Motion and Kinematics (Mechanics) and Probability Analysis (Statistics). There are six units to study in total, each equally weighted.
What you need to get on
5 x GCSE grade 5+ including English and a Grade 6 in GCSE Maths.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
