Mathematics is an incredibly popular option in the Sixth Form at Camp Hill. It is a challenging subject which offers a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction in its own right, while offering useful support for a range of other A Level subjects. The Course Mathematics in year 12 involves the study of pure mathematics and a combination of mechanics and statistics (applied mathematics). Mathematics in year 13 involves studying additional pure and applied content. Pure mathematics builds on GCSE knowledge (including algebra, trigonometry and sequences), while some new concepts are introduced (for example differentiation, integration and logarithms). Statistics builds on the handling data and probability work done at GCSE while mechanics is largely new content. You may choose to gain an additional A Level in Further Mathematics by studying further core mathematics and additional options in applied mathematics. The further core work builds on the work done in the single A Level course, however the courses are co-teachable. Additional Opportunities All students studying mathematics in the sixth form have the opportunity to enter the Senior Maths Challenge and the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls, national competitions run by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust. We circulate information about numerous lectures and master classes run by other schools and universities, all of which provide the opportunity to think outside the syllabus areas and some of which are residential. What you need to get on

Our minimum entry requirements for September 2026 are six GCSEs at grade 6 or above, including English Language and Mathematics. Applicants must achieve Grade 7 or above in each of the subjects (or related subjects) that they wish to study at A Level.
